Coming to you from Hooligan Factory Customs, is the earth elemental: Swamp Thing!!

I saw the upcoming SDCC Swamp Thing figure, and although it looked fantastic, I didn't like the idea of the rubber 'skin' they added to it. Some of the pics showed the prototype already tearing, so I wanted to prove the figure could be done via more 'mundane' sculpting and painting methods.

I spent quite a few hours on this one. Deluxe Aggression Kane body, with an Alex Ross' Justice clear Martian Manhunter head. I swapped out the Kane arms for a set of CM punk arms, and took the bare feet of a UFC figure. I then covered the whole body in Aves Apoxie Sculpt. After poking about 900,000 holes in the 'skin', I also beefed up the shoulder areas, and the calf areas with Apoxie Sculpt, and set to work sculpting the 'vines' you can see crawling all over the body- as well as the 'tubers' growing on his back complete with stems and leaves!

After a visit to the nearest hobby shop, I picked up some train set undergrowth, as well as some fake flower pieces and leaves at the local fabric store. I applied these here and there, painting and sealing as I went.

My pride and joy on this figure though, HAS to be the interchangable "PLANT ATTACK!" arm! I grabbed another wrestling figure's arm, applied undergrowth, fake flower pieces, leaves, action figure twisty-ties, and hot glue. This all added up to a final product of posable swampy tendril branches that Swamp Thing can use to ensnare those that would harm the earth!
