Eddore is one of my favorite lanterns and thus was very hard to make. First I wanted Eddore to glow which as we all know is a pain. Second I wanted Eddore to to pay tribute to its Star trek homage and have that spectral gaseous look about it. I m still not happy with the stand so any tips would be much appreciated. But what I did was almost kill everyone I know. No seriously in an poorly ventilated building I melted some plastic green & glow in the dark coca-cola cups in a cookie sheet. Which I now know is extremely dangerous the fumes are not only toxic but flammable, and I did this in an oven. One uhm interesting night later I had made a sheet of nearly unusable glow-in the dark plastic, in the shape of a 9x13 inch pan. So I then had to figure out how to insert the red eyes clear plastic bits that I wanted to make inset and look as if they sparkled. SO what did I do I used a blow torch. Can anyone say I am brilliant sometimes one small explosion later and cutting the shape out with a hot knife. then taking some small bits and a fixing them to the back.(Had to melt them in as every super glue I tried would not bond with the plastic. More blowtorch work and toxic fumes). A small amount of paint for the symbol and there you have it. Warning anyone else doing this make sure you know what kind of plastic you are melting and open windows PLEASE. The first picture is it glowing on its own after I placed it under a very strong light.
