thanx PureToreador for the bump. I haven't replied to this since july. and thanx again to the rest of you guys, for the kind words. coming from master customizers like you, it means a lot.
to answer crimsonvampyre-1's qustions:
1. play? or pose? anyway, if I was to give give it to my 5 year old nephew he could play with it like any ML fig. Rateeg will soon find out if he'll be getting it.
2. Acrylic
3. shocks thanx bro. Back then I was using epoxy clay which hardens in 10-12 minutes. I can only make the basic form nut most of the details have been carved with a scalpel, and sanded down.
"And I noticed you said it was the very first spider-man...I just sold that not too long ago. Haha."
---- yeah I was an idiot to have used that fig as a FRAME. Back then I cared less about the potential $ value of MOC toys. but it's all good. I liked how it turned out. thanx!

So I have a few questions...
1. How well are you able to play with this figure? Do you have to be really delicate?
2. What type of paint did you use?
3. How the hell did you sculpt the leather folds so well???
And I noticed you said it was the very first spider-man...I just sold that not too long ago. Haha.

Incidentally, I've made two figures that would look perfect next to this figure. I believe you've already had a look at my Movie Kingpin. You might also want to check out my Movie Bullseye. I gave the recipe so if you decide you need one, you'll know how.

It's the very first super poseable spiderman bro. where the top half of the torso was still held by a rubber cord series 1 of... I think it was even before the ML line.
I'm currently making another one with a bullseye base fig, based on the Alexander Maleev art, Bendis series.

yeah I suppose its because of the synthetic brush. I was never comfortable with spray painting. I actually feel autistic when I have an aerosol can or an airbrush in my hand. it just doesn't give me that same feeling when I hold a brush- like an extension of your hand.

Nice. I'll have to take a look eventually. Thanks.
It's what gives your figs that rough realistic finish?

its a sealant... I think. its in a bottle used as a varnish for acrylic paintings. available at any art store.

Silk finish clear coat? Is that a paint or a sealant?

ey thanks guys! glad that you liked it. re. the leathery effect- I used dry brushing technique, and used layers of silk-finish clear coat. And the paint doesn't chip off. Sanding down the joints is very important. It gives you that extra space for layers of paint. hope this helps PureToreador. til next custom!

This is probably the most amazing custom I have ever seen. Since all I collect and/or customize is Marvel Movie figures, I HAVE to ask, Can you please give a more detailed recipe, right down to how you got the paint to look that way? I know I would just be copying yours when I make mine, but "immature artists immitate, while mature artists steal." And also, does the paint chip if you pose him?
