Jon-El, son of Superman. Named after Jonathan Kent, Kal-El's Earthly father he is the son of Lois Lane. Now a young adult, he struggles to exist in a multiverse where his father's heroic shadow is one feat he can't conquer in a single bound. Recipe: -Jakks Mexican-hooded wrestling figure (torso, arms, inner head articulation, partial pelvis) -ML Bullseye (partial pelvis, hips, upper legs, knees & feet) -ML Ant Man (lower legs, upper boots) -DCUC Kid Flash (fists, modded with new pegs made from GI JOE screws) -Headcast of a DCUC Nightwing (mask sanded off + face/hair resculpted a bit) -DCD Black Lantern stand (acetoned down + sprayed with multiple layers of Tamiya Spray Laqure Metallic Blue) -Apoxie Sculpt (Black) for details After initial joint dremeling/construction/joint markering with a red sharpie, I used Tamiya Laquer sprays (metallic red and blue) to achieve the neat shiny/speckled metallic effects. However, since they couldn't reach some smaller areas, I painted over the red with Tamiya acrylic gunmetal + Citadel Red Ink after the final blue layer was applied. All the yellow areas were painted with 2 layers of white Vallejo acrylic, then Tamiya Yellow so the colors would be really vibrant. The skin and hair were painted with Tamiya acrylics, and the eyes with Vallejo (I find it's easier to control Vallejo in smaller amounts vs Tamiya which is much thicker - just a personal preference though). The figure was sprayed with Citadel matte finish sealant + some areas were done with Vallejo Matte Varnish (face, yellow costume details). Hope you like this rendition of Jon-El, Son of Superman. -Blayne ![]() |
