Skeletor (Masters of the Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:29621
Name:Skeletor
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Masters of the Universe
Creator:Darththomas
Date Added:May 19, 2011
Base Figure:DCUC Eclipso
Height:6.00 inches
I know, I know, ANOTHER Skeletor. Well I had my Fire Skely and my heart just yearned for a classic one so after a few quick trades with GOLIATH_CUSTOMS for the Skely, Zombieforhire for the Eclipso and son of Keldor over at the ORG. for the weapons I set to work. This one actually only took about a week.

Recipe:

Base = DCUC Eclipso, I know most DC are the same but the colour of the joints matters to me.

Head = 200x Skeletor

Shoulders = DCUC Eclipso, in the greatest tradition of mattel I decided to reverse the shoulder joints, haha, who am I kidding.....I messed up but I think I got away with it.

Upper arms = DCUC Dr.Midnight

Lower arms = DCUC Orion

Arm armour = 200x Skeletor, drermelled out to a thin piece that slotted straight onto the arm.

Chest Plate = 200x Skeletor, did away with the holder on the back as I thought the weapons just don't look right in it. Also did away with the fasteners on the sides for a smoother look.

Skirt and belt = 200x Skeletor.

Lower legs = 200x Skeletor, dremmelled to fit over DCUC leg.

Feet = 200x Skeletor at the front and the back was sculpted with aves fixit.

Weapons = 200x Skeletor

Cape = ML Black Panther with collar cut off

Painted with games workshop and sealed with vallejo Satin and super glue.

I went for a bit of a darker look on this one compared to my fire skely, I think I prefer this look.

another great custom and I love the fact you went with more of the 200x color, I love both but I feel the 200x line needs some more love, after all it was abandoned (poor baby). I can't wait to see more.

What can I say Darth, except phenomenal work as always! I really like the flame effect coming out of the ram staff especially!

Yeah I agree of does sit a little too high, it's the spikes on his armour that hold it up so it was a choice of loosing those or having the cape how it is. I display him without the cape so it's not really a problem. However, o would love to see how it would look if you fancy doing that.

very very beautiful, I love he-man figures, especially skeletor. Its perfect execpt that it gives me the urge to put the picture in photoshop, trace around the head+top of cape, and lower it about 1/8 inch

@Bobtheodd- thanks man, hope I can keep it up!!
@Pulpyfiction - cool I was really shooting for that "gritty" look, glad I achieved it cheers bud.
@evanjones - Thanks mate, hope you didn't have nightmares
@countpichula - Judging by your WIPs your skely would be epic, I'd like to see you do a revoltech jointed skely.
@zombieforhire - pleasure as always, I already let you know the colours but for anyone else interested I used black base coat, dry brush with a mix of liche purple and boltgun metal the warlock purple mixed with mithril silver for the highlights.
@3bcustoms - got lucky really with the cape, it was originally gonna be Vader's cape but it was the only black one I had and I'd used the base I was gonna use for vader on fire skely so there was no point in holding on to it.
@Supersizeme - Thanks man and I hope you had a good vacation, not sure who's next, I really need some more bad guys but it's gonna get pretty pricy for the bases.
@Redrebelcustoms - appreciate it mate!!

Nice! He actually looks scary, as opposed to most versions of Skeletor I've seen. Well done
