For those who know Days of Future Past was a great storyline that ran in the Uncanny X-men in the 80's. For those who don't, the brief summary is that Sentinels have taken over the world, imprisoning not just mutants but humans has well. Wolverine a small band of mutants are still free and roaming as resistance fighters. On one incursion into a Sentinel mutant detainment camp wolverine engages in battle with a Sentinel and loses his life. I remember this story fondly, it was such an awesome read. So when I saw this contest I immediately knew what figure I would make. I added the claws from my fodder bin, replaced the deadite feet with some fodder GIjoe boots, and proceeded to repaint the figure. I painted the base chrome silver and then went over sections with tamiya red, then another layer of dark flesh tone over..... you get the picture, many layers of different colors. The final layer was a wash of clear smoke over the entire figure to really give him that charred extra crispy look. The Sentinel in the background is just the standard BAF, with a small mod to the hand. The Blast effect was from an old Iron Man base, with some clear orange acrylic and black lines drawn on it to give the old school comic blast look. I hope you all like it!
