Hey Guys, Well this is my first post of this year and it is Kowl with a Whispering Woods diorama. This was just an experiment to see if I could make a figure from scratch.
This didn't come out to bad for my first scratch built figure, what I did was start by making a wire frame for the feet and hands and sculpted over them with bake and bend sculpy once cooked I sculpted the claws with fixit sculpt. I made a body shape from tin foil and sculpted legs onto the bottom part with b&b sculpy for thewire from the feet to fit into, this meens that the feet and legs bend because of the wire inside. Next I made a robe from b&b sculpy along with sleaves for the hands to fit into. The pegs to atatch the arms to the body were made from nail heads. Then I made the ears/wings from b&b sculpy and sculpted the head from fixit sculpt, so his wrists and ankles turn, his feet hands arms and legs bend, his arms are articulated at the shoulder and his head turns. I painted him with acrylics and added some blue gems to his robe, also I made him a book from fimo clay and some specks on a rod from wire clear plastic and a cotton bud with sculpted tassles.
The Diorama was made by cuttimg a base from cardboard and sulpting over it with das clay the raised areas are sraps of modeling foam carved into rocks and glued down then all was painted brown and the flat areas were flocked. next I made the pink puff-ball bushes with bals of tin foil and sculpted over with fixit. the tree was made from the side of a ceriel box roled into a cone wraped in masking tape and painted over with a mix of pva and polyfiller, the top of the tree was tin foil sculpted over.
Next I added some orange lychen and some flowers I had for making cards with. hope you guys like it.
as always I would love to know what you think.
