One day looking through cheap toys in a store I found a series of Chinese bootleg Gears of War 2 figures. For toys with a $2 price tag they were sculpted extremely good (and they fit with GI Joes), so I snagged a Marcus, Dom and three Locusts. All that neded to be done was a major repaint.

Marcus was painted with pictures of the NECA figure for reference, and believe it or not, everything that was sculpted on the big figure is present on this little guy! It's just amazing.

First, I primed him with chaos black. Then I've painted his armor mithril silver, color decals were made with blood red, white primer, blue and yellow are mixed colors.
Next stop was a heavy wash (about three layers) on his armor of a black/silver mix. This gave it a nice, worn look.
Pouches and boots were also painted with a custom mixed brown (blood red with a heavy dose of chaos black) and then dry brushed with a lighter color (added some white and gold). I've also used it a little on his forearms and hands.
Marcus' head is the part I'm most proud of, since it was the first time I've painted a full human head (with eyes and all that). I'm surprised it's not that hard, even costidering this small scale. I've used two layers of elf flesh with 2/3 of a dwarf flesh wash. Eyes were painted black, white, blue irises and black again for pupils.
Hair is black, bandana heavy gray (black + white mix).
Finally, the Lancer assault rifle. Primed black, silver parts with darkened mithril, colors the same as on his body. The dried up blood is a dry brush of a darkened blood red (who woulda thought, huh?).
