Flash Back Tron (Random) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:27396
Name:Flash Back Tron
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Random
Creator:VaderThor
Date Added:February 8, 2011
Base Figure:Spinmaster Tron Legacy Rinzler
Height:7.00 inches
Took a Deluxe SpinMaster Tron Legacy Rinzler, modded the joints for more articulation, seperated the index fingures on both hands. Put the head on a ball joint with interchangable heads, from "flash back Tron" to "I fight for the Users Tron". The head is from an S-Mart Ash neca figure that I felt was a good resemblence of Bruce Boxleitner. The one disc was painted to match the bright white/blue tron color theme while the other was left to Rinzler's orange color, like in the movie "Flash back battle". Each disk was outlined with white to appear as though it was turned "on". One baton was painted with bright white/blue color as well to keep the theme. The figure still lights up and LED was changed out to be a bright white that shines throught the bright white/blue color. The orange plastic was removed and hot glue was dripped into holes and painted (advice from the Jin Saotome master!) Finally the figure was airbrushed gloss black, with hand painted flat black areas for suit contrast as well as hand painted bright white/blue details. Helmet was also given many coats of gloss black for a glass like shine! Please comment, even criticism helps!

This is outstanding, how did you manage to change the LED color? And where can you get the glossy black airbrush?

Not a problem man, it helps for customizers to tip each other, helps us all refine our skills. I did see your Tron, very creative to build from scratch like that, mine was more a repaint and alternate head.

Thanks for the tips, brother! I used a marvel legend base for my Tron--he's on the realm here somewhere if you want to see him. I still want the bigger SpinMasters ones though, if nothing else to see if I can do what you and Jin did with the articulation. See ya!! -Fitz

Thanks for the kind words Fitz, I would say it's a tie between this guy and my grimlock as my favorite custom I've done right now. I was very please with the way it turned out with some tips from Jin Saotome and the head idea I got from J17 from I/O tower forums. I was entertaining the idea of doing one to sell Definitely not this one, this one is my baby LOL Any time you want some specifics on how I did something feel free to ask, I'd like to have some idea swaps with people on here!
