It's possible that it's your cameras flash, but your skintones are borderline albino. Try mixing in some darker skin tone (even a tan, or 'dwarf skin', or rose color, depending on what paints you use. Also, three thinner coats of paint are better than one thick one. It feels like you're making progress faster with one coat, but patience pays off with the end product.
