Here’s Jason Voorhees, from Friday the 13th Part IX: Jason Goes to Hell. Not one of my favorite Friday the 13ths (I loved the first and last 10 minutes where you actually get to see Jason), but one of my favorite looks for Jason. Before I fell in love with the Resident Evil game series, I was taken with anything and everything horror, so I figured I should show some love to where my obsession with anything gory started.

I just took a Mezco part 9 Jason and used the upper body, and various bits for the lower body. I took whatever details I could from the Jason Lower body and transplanted them on and blended them in with Apoxie-Sculpt. Then I went through and sanded and smoothed everything and added the appropriate gashes and nicks with the Dremel and re-painted everything from head to toe and called him good. I will eventually give him better articulation in the arms and feet, but for now, I just called him done. I still have 9 more Jason customs to do so I’ll bother with the perfections when I am through with them.

EDIT: 4-6-2011- I always hated the head Mezco produced for the figure, the mask specifically. So I ripped it off, took a mask from Mezco Part 3 Jason and cut it down to size, gave him new eyes underneath, and smoothed it all together. I also gave him little strands of hair I ripped off the wife's Scottie dog (not real, stuffed) to make it a little more movie-accurate. I gave him a whole new repaint too, honestly, when I first made him I was just being lazy and wanted to move onto the next thing. I still want to go back and give him some better articulation, but for now, this will do. Nothing major here to warrant a new submission, just some touch-ups. Thanks. Oh, and the 3rd pic is a comparison of the old version, which is on the left, obviously.
