John Henry Irons was the head of Luthor Co’s Armored Infantry division. After several successful projects, Irons even became a type of protégé to Luthor. It was Lex who gave Irons the nickname “Steal” after John Henry was able to scoop a government contract away from Wayne Co. Then came the day when Luthor was thought to have died. The void left in the world was felt nearly immediately, the vultures began circling Luthor Co. Irons was one of four who helped to hold the company together until Luthor returned in his newly cloned Lex II body. John Henry achieved this by completing his self designed Iron Luthor Mark I armor. Upon Luthor’s return, Irons would go one to perfect the armor with Luthor’s help; eventually John Henry became Luthor’s personal bodyguard and the corporate “mascot” of Luthor Co. Ultimately, Irons was a pivotal player in Luthor’s defeat of the alien menaces Doomsday and Kal-El as well as a major player in the expulsion of vigilantes from Metropolis. Irons continues to serve the citizens of Metropolis by keeping the forces of Batman and the “Justice League” out of the city in his ever evolving armor.
