She-Hulk's low-tech fist meets The Wizard's high-tech vehicle. The Wizard is a simple Toy Biz freeze-the-joints and repaint. The only cutting was to angle his head downward. He has a single rod from his foot through the disk. His outraged expression inspired this scene. The Flying Disk came with the character, and originally shot disks from a spring loaded magazine. Very clever. Here I added a steering console and some legs from the spares box, then threw in angle iron and snapped wires. Don't worry about the Wiz. He can fly. His whole schtick is anti-gravity disks he gloms on The Thing to levitate him harmless and helpless in the air. She-Hulk hangs from an interior wire. She-Hulk is much improved over the flat-footed, hair-in-her-face version. I liked her casual clothes over her bathing suit in a recent special. Her original hands were too big, so she has a Gambit hand and some other with black fingerless gloves. I reset her hair and added a big braid from the spares box, then painted it black streaked with green. The jeans are pieced from T-shirt material, then dry-brushed light blue for a worn look. Her athletic socks are embroidery thread glued lengthwise, with a wide grosgrain ribbon for the top. The Converse sneakers are index card with split grosgrain for the sole ridge. I sewed in the laces: needle and thread. Interesting painting tip: Same as with the primaries red, blue, and yellow, you can't mix magenta. Believe me, I tried. You have to buy it. Magenta is red minus yellow, according to light color charts. No idea how the paint gets made. ![]() |
