Ultimate Captain America (Marvel) Custom Action Figure
Custom #: | 24632 | Name: | Ultimate Captain America | Custom Type: | Action Figure | Toy Series: | Marvel | Creator: | getsa | Date Added: | October 1, 2010 | Base Figure: | Ultimate Captain America | Height: | 6.00 inches |
-Changed the butt ugly ult cap am's head to a series 1 cap am head. Removed the wings, sculpted the chin strap and the shoulder straps as well. The shield had a broken handle when I got it so I just fixed it and there! Cap can hold it again and also put it on his back. There was also some problems on the ab joint. It can't stand straight, it slouches automatically even if you pull the torso back, so I just fixed it too when I opened his torso. Repainted the face, repainted the scales and mask with metallic blue, some dark blue washes were also painted on his pants, and then the gloves and boots were painted red. Voila! One handsome ultimate captain america! (Well, at least he looks better than the original fig... Hehe!) Hope you'll also like the pics. :) Please wait... |

yeah, marvel and marvel legends have a huge following here in the philippines. I think it is because the classic marvel cartoons were shown in the local channel here before and there are also lots of comic book shops and toy stores that sell marvel legends both loose and MOCs. so collectors really have a place to go to if they're into collecting. although hoarders are also a big problem here.
we also have lots of toycons here. there was one last saturday and sunday where I had the chance to be one of the speakers for the customizer's clinic (a mini event that took place in the toycon)
there's also gonna be another toycon on the 16th and 17th this month, and a HUGE toycon on december... so yeah! filipino collectors and customizers here in our place are gonna be happy for the rest of the year.
and yes, there are a lot of great Filipino customizers/artists too. some of them are big influences for me as a customizer so I'm really lucky to have them as inspirations.
thanks for dropping by dude!
yeah, same here, I'm from the philippines but I really think cap am is really cool... how I wish we also have captain philippines or something like that.. haha! well, we do have some great phil original characters too. but still, having a captain philippines would be cool. hehe!
as for the white background, I just use a white paper/carton that's taped inside a television box/carton. it's cheap, but works well for me.

thanks for all the love guys! wow! I'm really happy you liked cap.
as for the photos, well, for the first pic I just used my camera phone (nokia 5610) and a flash light and the rest, its still my trusty camera phone and some rechargeable lamps that looks like pink colored sheeps... haha! yeah, my photo tent really looks funny if you'll see it in person.
well, I don't have money to buy a real camera and some fancy mini photo studio set up so I have to make do with what I can find in our house. that, and because I'm really stingy. hehe!
thanks for all the comments guys! I'll try not to be lazy and finish up some more customs this month. I'll post it as soon as I can. thanks again! and have a nice day to you all!
I love the photos something to aspire to.
