Well I'm a fan, maybe not the biggest, but I had to do this guy! If you haven't seen this showtime series, at least do yourself the favour of watching the first season! He's a combination of parts between a Hawaiian spike and angel two pack, spiced with parts of a cruddy Dexter figure. I had to do a little work on the head and dealt with more paints, instead of the factory flat paints. Dry brushed some tones over a base skin coat. The hair had several layers of light to lighter brown over the initial dark brown colour. Dexter has a grey shirt underneath his Hawaiian masterpiece shirt, and it and the pants were given the initial colour base coat and dry brushed higlight treatment as well. *side note* the shirt was the whole idea behind this concept like everyday Dexter, he has his work attire on, hence the badge. I got the Angel two pack for a great deal, and the Dexter figure for an even better deal for $6 Canadian. There was no articulation, the paints were horrible, he was cross-eyed, but it had great accessories! I hope to update this soon with his stealth stabbin' clothes... gloves and a change of shirt! ;) So these photos are just a little fun, so please forgive me as: DEXTER DOESN'T HAVE GLOVES ON! He could leave evidence! -I couldn't find gloves tiny rubber gloves that fit! lol HE'S NOT WEARING HIS RITUAL KILLING CLOTHES! -Like I said I'm working on it. HE DOESN'T HAVE HIS RECIPROCATING SAW FOR DISMEMBERING! -I couldn't find one small enough, but I did get my hands on that nifty bone saw! I guess I'll have to make one for the next go... Lets just say that Dexter ran into his prey on the way home fleeing the country heading to the airport, and Dexter had to act quick... necessity and all that. Anyways sorry if these pics are too graphic for some, but if you know Dexter, this is timid. I didn't include any photos actually depicting violent acts. ;) Thanks for the view!  |

Honestly that figure is ALMOST SPOT ON!! Where did u get the accessories, saw and all that good slicing and dicing stuff!!?
The other day I found the variant figure with the removable white sterile suit, the clear plastic facesheild, and black apron. It was $30, and seemed like such a rip off, but I wanted the accessories so bad still!
Then it got me to thinking... I could make those things?!!! So there may be an update at some point!
(this is subject to me getting off my butt and doing it!)
So many names here I have seen some great work from, especially as of late. I have to get some more stuff from off of the work bench and onto the display shelf, so more stuff as soon as I get it done! I can't thank you guys enough for the inspiration. It seems everybody is running on a steady stream of creative energy as of late.
Let's keep it up people! Now to keep my butt from procrastinating...
I had way too much fun with this one, mostly in getting the photos, just silly fun creating a Dexter action figure crime scene, and I find I keep finding cool tidbits to go into his accessory catalog.
