Hey everyone! Haven't posted in a while- but managed to finish one custom I have wanted to do for a ages- Cursed Earth Koburn.

The figure is based on classic 2000ad artist Carlos Ezquerra's amazing artwork. Carlos himself was partly responsible for designing Judge Dredd waaaay back in the 1970's and is a HUGE influence on British comics- he is one of my all time favourites!

Judge Marshall Koburn is a Judge who took the Long Walk from Mega City one to bring justice to the Cursed Earth, Law to the lawless.

Koburn is a Judge who is a maverick and doesn't keep to the strict, rigid codes of the Mega City One Judges, such as Dredd himself- in fact they are poles apart! But Koburn is an honest Judge, if a little unorthodox at times, but that is how he has to survive in the radioactive desert and harsh badlands of the Cursed Earth. I highly recommend people check out this great story in the pages of the 2000ad Megazine- or you can pick up the collected works in the graphic novel "JUDGE DREDD- The Carlos Ezquerra Collection"

Shoulder pads-Think it was a Rhino figure-possibly Ultimate Rhino-not 100%
Guns- LCBH Dredd(Pistol) Rifle-scratch built from various guns I had
Knife and Boot Scabbard- scabbard from Reaction Judge Anderson-Knife ??????
Knee and Elbow pads-plasticard
Bottle of Whiskey- Dolls house accessory
Base- DC Direct, added rocks and scrub tree

Using the comic as a reference I painted the whole figure and I tried to keep it as accurate as possible- I wanted to give Koburn the weathered look- as though he is in the Cursed Earth. The character has almost a Cowboy/Spaghetti Western feel to it and I wanted to portray this too-I hope it has worked!

Koburn was a treat to do and has given me the bug to have a go at other customs that have been sitting about partly completed on my workbench. Having the correct face sculpt was a big help as he really looks like the artwork as Mr Ezquerra has a very distinctive style.
