the XMC archangel looks very scrawny and the wings look awful... I wanted a new look, something that would make it different and unique... so there, I made some changes and came up with "angel of death", one of the horseman of apocalypse. I used ML iron fist because of the ripped semi muscular body and sculpted the costume details instead of just repainting it so that it would really pop out. the skull face was also sculpted over the iron fist head. I also made a pair of retracted wings so that it can be easily stored and displayed inside the display cabinet together with the other X-men or ML figures. (huge wings look great, but its hard to put in a group display with the other characters.. hehe!) the wings came from a cut out DVD (for the hard flat plastic) and the details were just sculpted over. magnets were buried at the back of the figure and on the wings so that the wings would be easily removable. now, the paint... I wanted to give him some metallic blue and metallic pink paint job but I don't have metallic paints and I can't find any... so I just took some blue paint, mixed it with silver, and it looked like metallic blue! (way to go captain obvious!) for the metallic pink, I mixed red, white, and silver, and there... I think it looks ok... (actually it was really by accident that I've discovered it... haha! I accidentally dipped my brush with blue paint on the silver and mixed it...) there you go! archangel, the angel of death! one of the horsemen of apocalypse! ![]() |

landing a place on the 4th slot made me really happy. thanks guys! I'll keep on practicing more to improve my works. thanks!
about how I cut the cd, I used a circular dremel bit with a thin side ( it looks like a disk shaped bit ) it doesn't really cut the cd, I just used it to make grooves or mark the outline or the shape of the wings coz driving the dremel bit all the way through cracked the cd on my 1st try. so after engraving the lines, I just repeatedly drove my cutter blade on the grooves until it went through and then I just trimmed down the edges with a blade to clean it. I used a heated blade before, it also worked pretty well when cutting through hard plastics.
