Fafnir was one of Conan's Free Companions in REH adventures. He was a Vanir that shared numerous adventures with the Cimerian and is features several times in the series. This custom was a bit frustating, first my faithfull Springer Spaniel complained so the source of hair was out of the question. I took a Dog Soldiers head sculpt to use for the figure because the likeness is dead on. Second problem was that the Woverine from Marvel Icons is slightly shorter and less bulky than the Thor Icon figure I used for the Conan custom, so side by side Fafnir is not as mighty as the Cimerian, (I discovered this after the purchase) nevertheless the musculature of these Icon figures matches the theme and posing the figure by itself the efect is nule. After carefully sanding away the head sculpt of Wolverine and painstakingly attaching the Dog Soldier head piece I achieved the result I wanted. The body of the Icons figure was conpletely sanded to removethe grooves that cover the figure. The third and most dificult decision was the hands, no matter how I tried the sculpts for the hand of the Icons figure can hold anything. After careful deliveration I decided to trow caution to the wind and remove the hand to substitute them with 21 Century spare pieces luck was with me because after minor modifications the hands fitted perfectly in the figure they look a little thin but since is only my second custom I can live with that for now. The only parts I did not touch were the boots. The Leather shirt was modified form a Ignite figure and all other pieces are taken from several Ignite figures (sword, spear and shield). I just wished the height of the figures was a little bigger to faithfully recrate the hulking Vanir. Hoe you enjoy as always comments critiques and suggestions are welcome.

I really like the 12" inch line of customs you are developing. I'm going to have to break away from the 6" -"8" scale customs I've been doing to take a stab at some taller figures. I like the fact that you are using real leather, hair and such. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work!
