Life has kept me busy this last month but, I am trying to finish up some projects.. here is Thanatos God of Death from Marvel Comics. After seeing lanshark's Thanatos and I being inspired by Cerebus's paint applications on his two versions of Ares, I got the itch to make one myself. DCUC ARES head to toe with a face transplant. The skull came from a key ring Cerebus sent me awhile ago. removed the shoulder armor added wings from a DCUC Hawkman. Sword short and more like a gladiator's sword, and it is a combo of LCBH Wraal's hilt and LCBH Conan's blade. The Scabbard is a modified LCBH Conan scabbard. I shortened it to fit the shorter gladiator sword. minor sculpt work was needed. Thanks for looking, comments and feedback are welcome. ![]() |

awesome paint job
Crisco, once I removed the cape Ares came with, I took the dremmel and made the grove the cape had been attached in, deeper. The DCUC Hawkman wings are on a plastic hinge and I set it in and applied epoxy to cement it in. It kept all the articulation..Those are some great wings if you can get your hands on them.
Snobit, those are the hands that came on the Ares figure. Its a great figure with lots of great detail that gets missed due to the factory paint job.
Cerebus, it is a great figure for painting. I was torn since I love the leather look you gave yours but the pictures I had seen has Thanatos with a darker look. so I went with mostly black and gunmetal gray.
wonderful figure
