Captain America Mvc2 (Marvel vs Capcom) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:22670

Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel vs Capcom
Creator:abeam
Date Added:June 25, 2010
Base Figure:DCUC Atom Smasher Series' Aquaman
Height:6.00 inches
Here's Captain America based on the game, Marvel vs Capcom 2. This is my first completed figure using the DCU base as opposed to the usual Marvel Legends base. I am particularly proud of this not only for it being the first completed DCU base for me but because I think I did a better job than usual. At this point, I can see distinctly that my skills are growing and advancing.

~recipe~
base: a plethora of DCU figures
head: casted copy of Atom Smasher series' Flash
chest, shoulders, arms, legs: Atom Smasher series' Aquaman
abs, waist, crotch: Kalibak series' Superman variant
lower arms/hands, lower legs/feet: Metamorpho series' Red Tornado

@BKZ: the intention for this cap was player 1 however my collection will contain the player versions that I actually use. for example if both cap and cable were on my team, cable would be player 2 colors and cap would be player 1 colors. Sadly, I personally think all of cap's alternate versions are fugly however I do find the mexican color scheme hilarious but I don't remember which player color he is. if you ever get the chance, check that out.

This is my new favorite Cap! My only gripe is that I was expecting you to do Player 2,3,4,5,6 color ways. On second though, that cap blue you used may be one of the variant colors. Was that your intention like you did with cable?

I don't know, the colours may be as simple as lighting in the photos, don't worry too much about it. I think you have a great figure. I like it! Every time I see one of the DCU figures converted into a Cap done well, I want to post on it, so here I am. Nice work!

@whiskeytango: thanks for the tip, I see now that the problem with my blue is too pale. I knew something was off but I'm too impatient and I get hasty so I don't re-mix the paint lol
@Renmauzo: first of all, I'm a big fan of your figs and style hehe. anywho, I mainly use testors and gameworks but occasionally tamiya but I'm dropping it cuz its so hard to work with. And for sure ill be making more MvC2 and other sprite-based figs, especially because of that vallejo tip
And thank you to those I didn't get to mention XD

Great looking Cap abeam! I'm not sure what paints you use, but if you ever get the chance, Vallejo paints are awesome for 2-D sprite based video game characters; the colours really pop and they're very easy to work with. Again, great work, and does this mean we'll get to see more MvC stuff from you in the future?!

Very nice. Its always cool to see a Captain America thats pulled off well even with the chain mail. My only critiques would be that if you're going specifically for the MvC look, the blue is too pale, and the red is too dark. Other than that, perfect.
