Hated the ml 8 iron man figure's shoulders. They stuck out wayyyyyy too much. So I popped him open and put in the shoulders from a movie iron man figure. Then a simple repaint and it completely looks better

That's what I was considering. That ot some of those micro sized magnets I ordered. I posted those in the "looky what I got" thread.

What I would do is drill a hole completely through the shoulders, right in the middle so you don't destroy the disc. Run a rod through it, and attach the shoulder pads to that.

It was a pain, I cracked him open which isn't easy on him for some reason, then carved out the shoulder sockets and the ball joints I put in to fit, carved the opening bigger too, then dremeled the arm holes a little bigger to pop onto the new joints. Not very easy but worth it.

I'm trying to do something like this. Was it hard getting those strange shoulders out, did you boil and pop or crack his chest?

that really does look like an improvement. I think he'd look even better with his original shoulder pads though.
