Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Spider-Man
Creator:toxinvenom
Date Added:February 23, 2010

I had the Iron Spiderman, it had no paint job and looked like plastic.

I repainted him and gave him a hard coat gloss finish.

It really took me a while to like this version of Peter Parker.

I know it sounds bizzare, but it has been widely used on plastic aircraft/vehicle models in the US. it provides a very glossy finish and solid paint that won't chip easily. you should try using it, and it works for airbrushes too!(thinning might be necessary.)
back to the figure, I want to do this because I don't really have paint around my house..and no real painting expereince.

hmm... is there a reason not to use floor polish? is it because of the material that it is applied to? I ask since I have not heard anything negative about it so far(other than rumors that it might dissolve plastic?) I want to use floor polish since from what I've heard it does not rub off as easily as normal clear coats. Heavier play might be involved for me?

I see..well judging from your experience with the figure, if you could remember, would a high gloss coat on the whole figure make it look better in your opinion? Sorry to be asking stuff from quite a while ago.

No prob. I love talking figures. It's my thing. I don't recommend floor polish. Use games workshop hard coat gloss. Do 2 thin layers, but fyi, I think I glossed the whole thing lightly, with extra on the gold parts.

hey man! Nope. Sorry dude, all my figures minus some old ones before I learned to paint...are spray painted white and then completely repainted. He was painted from white all the way up!

Did you only give it a gloss coat and not painting the gold parts?
if so it looks easy to do it with pledge floor polish on the hasbro iron spider, which I am thinking about picking up if I can achieve this look too myself!

awesome looking paintjob that is (hopefully simple)
