Toguro is the opponent of yusuke urameshi in the dark tournament saga of yuyu hakusho. he's one of my favorite villains and I've made him because I really wanted a toguro action figure but no figures of him have ever been made. please be nice to me as this was one of my first tries on customizing.. haha! =) I used a spiderman 3 venom unleashed 360 as a base figure for the body, savage dragon for the head, cut off the ears and the mohawk fin on his head, sculpted the hair, the veins that goes on his entire face and body, sculpted all the muscles, the huge shoulders, (I've put a small cut out plastic dome above the shoulders so that the joints would still be movable even if I sculpted the huge shoulders that covers part of the upper arm). sculpted the pants. I used water stop sealant as the sculpting material and tamiya acrylic for the paint. the hardest part is that I've manually sanded (yes, I don't have a dremel, just plain sand papers) the whole figure to remove the embossed webbings from venom and ended up saying "what the!? I'm going to cover the whole figure with sculpted veins and muscles, why did I bother sanding off the webbings!?. I then intricately sculpted the muscles one body part at a time and after it dried up, I sculpted the veins.  |

ouch! why'd you have to remind me of sensui!? I kinda feel really bad coz I should've used the base figure that I've used on this toguro to make a sensui... haha! my bad... now that I think of it, the venom unleashed 360 as a base figure will work PERFECTLY for a sensui... long slender limbs, tall and slim physique.... aaaaaaargh! and I know I can't get a hold of that base figure EVER again... unless someone with a golden heart sells me one at a very affordable price... haha!
very nice work its been years since I saw the show, last anime I remember liking, he looks so familiar yet I can't remember!
this was my 4th custom, but those four figures were done almost at the same time, so there you go. I'm still a beginner at this hobby though, thanks for your kind comments and for looking.

actually, I was aiming for a 100% toguro, hence the gray color, but I can't make the upper torso wider ( I should've cut it open and put fillers in the middle to make it wider but I was too lazy.. haha! I don't have drills and dremel at that time so I didn't bother cracking open the base figure. )
I've also made a 120% toguro (the maximum power he used to destroy the huge rei gun that yusuke fired) where I've used a roto hulk as base figure.. it's still not finished though. it's 90% complete, just have to put the finishing touches of the paint.
