Shield-bearing phantoms that can be found in Capcom's 1990 Gargoyle's Quest: Ghosts 'N Goblins [original Japanese title: Red Arremer: Makaimura Gaiden (A Demon World Village Story)] Nintendo Gameboy video game. Similar, albeit unarmed, robed ghost enemies also appear in the sequels, Gargoyle's Quest II: The Demon Darkness and Demon's Crest. These malicious spirits serve as the "grunts" of King Breager's army of Destroyers, as such, Firebrand, the protagonist of the game, will frequently have run-ins with them, both in the action sequences and in the Ghoul Realm over world. The shields that these creatures carry are carved from the petrified wood of the Fangry Forest, and the resilience of said timber is further enhanced by a powerful incantation during the buckler's construction--the end result is that none of Firebrand's breath projectiles can even scratch its surface. The only way to harm Schildgeists is to attack their unprotected backsides, which, thanks to their general lack of intelligence, is relatively easy to do, particularly for an agile winged gargoyle. Materials: Newsprint, Kleenex, white glue, hot glue, wire twist ties, and acrylic paint. Dimensions: 4.0 cm/1.6 in. x 5.1 cm/2.0 in. (widest point x highest point) Articulation: Nine points: Neck; shoulders (2); wrists (2); knees (2); and ankles (2). As can be expected, the cowl and robe restrict the leg and neck movement to a large extent. Time: Four days; November 4-8, 2009, with no work performed on the 6th. ![]() |
