The closest thing to a Boss on the game's first levels, this is a powerful enemy, capable of summoning other enemies with the wave of a hand. Protected by powerful incantations, the Sisters of Despair can destroy Turok with an array of powerful spells. A Sister moves by magical means, since she no longer has a lower body--she has been cut in half at the ribs, and her spinal chord trails beneath her like an obscene tail. An extremely potent and dangerous foe.

- Acclaim's official Sister of Despair description.

Deadside. The world of the dead. Here, the laws of nature mean nothing, and the energy emitted by a living being can be smelled by the dead from miles away. Alerted to Turok's presence, and lured by the promise of resurrection, the minions of this wasted land will stop at nothing to put an end to Turok.... And begin their invasion!

- Acclaim's official Deadkin description.

A trio of floating, demonic witches that appeared in Acclaim's 1998 Turok 2: Seeds of Evil Nintendo 64 and PC video game (developed by Iguana Entertainment). Arriving at the tainted River of Souls (level 2), Joshua Fireseed, the current holder of the Turok mantle, is once again dropped into the middle of the Primagen-instigated Dinosoid conflict. In this location, the Dinosoid army has invaded the riverbank city of Orycie, slaughtering the ill-prepared human populace by the hundreds. However, Turok's guide, Adon, and her masters, the Lazarus Concordance, have uncovered an even more insidious plot unfolding behind the scenes: An army of Deadkins, doubtlessly taking advantage of the confusion arising from the conflict between man and reptile, have secretly begun a Deadside invasion of the Lost Land through two Soul Gates hidden in the city. The Sisters of Despair are spearheading this endeavor--before he can continue on with his primary mission of thwarting the Primagen, Turok must exterminate the trio and destroy the Soul Gates before the Lost Land is overrun by the inhabitants of Deadside (Wouldn't those tasks be more appropriate for Michael LeRoi/Shadow Man than Turok? Deadside is his jurisdiction after all . . . squandered crossover potential I say).

Sisters of Despair are capable of performing the following spells:

- Fireballs: Palm-sized, blazing orbs that a Sister pitches with impressive accuracy.
- Phantom Skulls: A ghostly, human skull, enveloped in blue flames, that homes in on its target after being unleashed by a Sister.
- Repulsion: If you persist in crowding a Sister--perhaps in the hopes of introducing her to the effects of repeated, close-proximity, shotgun blasts--she can fling you violently away, via telekinesis. Methinks somebody at Iguana was a fan of Heretic/Hexen's Discs of Repulsion.
- Summon Undead: A Sister can awaken the dead from their eternal slumber to fight on her behalf--naturally, the trio have chosen Orycie's cemeteries as their lairs, ensuring an almost endless supply of corpses to animate. If you take the time to violently return these fresh zombies to their graves, she's just going to raise more to replace them, so focus your assault on her. For added amusement, try to get the Sister and her Deadmen spawn to infight--it's fun to watch a Sister flip out and pulverize any minions that accidentally strike her instead of you.

hmmmm good point.
I suppose using my bunny as a guard wouldn't help much neither.

drone.devil: And what's to stop me from making an Iron Man mk1 suit out of the materials instead and busting out of your dungeon, Tony Stark style? :P

I need to lock you away in a deep dungeon (with good lighting) with some vintage games of my choosing and whole pallets of kleenex, glues and newsprint.
