Here is Porkchop's Marvel Legends version of Superman- (Chop, stopping talking about yourself in 3rd person...it scares people--ok sorry) Recipe: Captain Marvel base- Removed the forearms, boots and head. Sliced the boots and forearms off of a select sculpt Superman Returns and planted them on this guy. The head comes from a Clark Kent figure. The 'S' symbol also comes from the select sculpt figure. (cut and dremmeled it until it was thin enough to glue on...patience...I have little left)- Same with the belt...uhg, belts... Then the whole figure was repainted. The tough stuff came in matching the flesh tone of the Clark head. Any tricks out there? I think I came close enough, I just got sick of staring at his neck color vs his head color and trying to match it...I think I even went a little crazy during hour 2 of the process. It was fun, but not a place in my head I want to return to any time soon. Cape- cloth part came from an 8 inch Superman Returns figure that had some punching action or ...something. He was only good for the cape. The sculpted part around his neck came from the Select Sculpt figure as well. Is that it?...I think so- Let me know if you have any questions and I'd appreciate any comments- even if the comments go something like 'Hey, Chop, you write too much- nobody cares about all the little details of what goes on in your head- You are a sad and lonely man who drinks too much coffee'...etc... ![]() |

Yeah, next time I'll just paint the head as well instead of messing around so much with matching colors. Although it was fun to feel victory at a job well done and pump my fist in the air. But, I do that a lot anyway for little things....fill up the car with gas....pump my fist....watch two episodes of 'Everybody Loves Raymond' in a row...pump my fist...eat a burritto...pump my fist. See what I mean? I'm easily very proud of myself.
As far as matching up skin tones - might as well repaint the both parts instead of spending hours trying to make your paint match one. Just be careful around the eyes so you don't have to redo them but sometimes your have to.
