This has been one of the most challenging customs to put together so far. The amount of details, the nuances that went in to the work - all that effort really paid off. It was so much fun to create! It had its difficulties, for sure, but there was no giving up because this time, it was personal lol.
About a year ago, got asked by a hardcore fan of Mortal Kombat to make a custom of Raiden, 12" no less. Had to decline and pass on it - felt the skills just weren't there to do it justice. A lot can happen in a year to catapult those skills, depending on the amount of experience and practice. So here are the specs:
Much of the costume was sculpted, the belt came from a Slaine figure, the cape was the dress from a Dawn, and tied a knot over the belt with elastic cord, repainted. Found the lightning bolts from Count Dooku Unleashed and made the hands (Kingdom Hearts Axel) interchangeable. The Chinese characters on his arms translate to mean "the force". Just those two words, painted on his sleeves, required some practicing just to get the calligraphy right.
