Recently saw the DVD of Green Lantern First Flight and fished out my old GL custom to revamp him. Say what you want about this DVD, I loved it, and enjoyed the story and animation and everything. Originally this figure was a DCSH Superman figure, which I bashed into a classic Hal GL figure quite awhile back. But then later I got the DCUC GL Hal and have been wondering what to do with this guy. Seeing this movie made up my mind. First I did some head mods... carved in his cheeks a bit to resemble the movie a bit more, making him thinner but hopefully not gaunt. Then I realized the Supe's hair wasn't going to cut it and added some apoxie sculpt as hair to approximate the do that Hal has in the DVD. I am way happy with how it turned out... the volume was really needed now that I compare it. Heck, I might even redo my Superman now :). They kinda look like they're wearing armor in the film (or at least look a little more chiseled around the collarbones) so I -- heh -- chiseled away at the figure's collar and pecs to give him a similar look. Then added an apoxie circle for his symbol, to make it standout better, as it seems to in the film (like an Iron-man-ish halo). Paint: Red, golden brown, dark brown, and drybrushed black for Hal's hair. Christmas green for his suit, along w/ basic black. For his eyes, I used white then added some cloudless cyan to simulate the light pupils they also had on the DVD. This symbol I made in powerpoint and decoupaged onto the apoxie sculpt circle I had done once it set. Enjoy! ![]() |
