All those hours spent staring into space back in high school really paid off for this custom! Most of the space scapes were done by memory and used a combination of testors acrylic mixed with enamel. It was sheer luck that these 2 separate figures were able to be joined together in the first place. The only part that posed a problem was trying to align the crotch area, both figures were seriously mismatched, in terms of length. Apoxie sculpt was used to mend and smooth the gaps. In order to keep the articulation in the head, a section of the face was cut out from the daredevil head and replaced with a portion of the lady death face. And it looks bizarre because her lower lip connects with his upper lip, joining together to make a single mouth, while each having one of their own. Again, some apoxie helped smooth out the seams. The head dress was made from a piece of sturdy clamshell and a slit was cut at the back of the vinyl cape to allow the head piece to slide in. Believe it or not, the infinity side (female) was trickier to paint than the male counterpart. Eternity was fun to paint, basically just cut loose with star splatters and cosmic abstractions, but infinity required all those detailed vibration lines and painting them clean was difficult over her round contours. A first layer of orange was painted to define her side, then came those tedious lines. Once dried, a final thin coat of yellow paint was applied over to subdue the lines but still allow them to show. The custom took 3 days to complete and got a pocket full of rainbows for it. Thanks for having a look!
