Custom no. 40 is a bit of a commemorative one for me as I reflect back on the last year and when I started doing this a year ago this week. I decided it to be only fitting that I make a custom for the set that started it all for me, Captain Commando from his MvC2 appearance! It's been a while since I've done an MvC2 custom, and Cap has been kicking my bum for the last 10 months. 3 tries later, and all slightly different recipes, I decided to scrap my old efforts and start from scratch. The recipe breaks down like this:

Head: ML Original Cyclops with cutting and sculpt
Upper Body: Neca Bionic Commando w/ sculpt for the combat vest
Arms: Left arm from Bionic Commando figure X2 and shoulder pads from Virtua On Viper w/sculpt and a LOT of cutting
Hands: NGE Eva Unit 0 X4 (2 normal, 2 flame hands)
Belt: Fodder
Legs: DCUC Batman w/sculpt + bracers from PlayArts FFXII Vaan

There was a serious amount of cutting, sculpting, and re-affixing of parts to make this custom happen, and this was also the first time I've ever converted an arm to its opposite side. I also wanted to give a shout out to FastFreddie for his tips on blending which I tried on the flame and the optional flame hands; I think they turned out pretty decent for a guy using spray paint cans, lol.
All in all, I think he turned out pretty cool, but I'll keep trying to get better so that I can look back this time next year and hopefully be able to say that I made some cool figures that stack up to the greats in our hobby. I hope you all like him, and I will have some more soon!
