Power Pack are, for the most part, made from Marvel Legends X-23. I had to shorten the base body to different degrees to get the different heights for each of the siblings. Zero-G: Alex Power (white) is the tallest and uses the black X-23 as a base with sculpted hair, boots and cuffs. Details are painted. He also has the right hand from Hasbro ML Jean Grey. I dremeled down X-23's chest and added some width around the trunk of the body. Lightspeed: Julie Power (red) is the same basic recipe as Alex. Although you can't really see in the photos, she has a flexible piece of hair at the back so that she can look upwards for those flying poses. I rounded out her face so that she had a more feminine jawline than Alex but kept the facial family resemblance. Mass Master: Jack Power (blue) is again the same recipe, but shortened to its limit. I used the purple X-23 face for Jack as he is the cheekier kid and I thought the rounder face would suit him. Energizer: Katie Power (yellow) is a different recipe from her siblings. As the X-23 body had gotten as short as it really could with Jack, I used a LotR Smeagol figure. This again needed a lot of shortening and dremeling to lose the emaciated detailing. Her head is SOTA Street Fighter Sakura, as are her hands. I think her pig tails are Cammy's. Like the rest of her family, she does use X-23's boots. I've included a picture of her alongside some of my other 6" scale figures so you can see how they fit in with the rest of the Marvel Legends. On all figures I tried to go against my usual gritty approach and keep them bright and colourful to get that fun, childish vibe. ![]() |

chupacabra24 Thanks for the comments. I made Jack purposefully look a little simian for that cheeky monkey effect, so that's why his mouth is a little further down than the others. His hair is taken from the new Marvel Age Power Pack books, but I made it a little more real world as noone in my figure display is allowed to have anime hair.
Glennwebman69 & Ant Thanks guys. As always, much appreciated.
WingsCustoms Thanks for the info about Smeagol. I was really stuck for a tiny figure that had ML level articulation until I saw your custom of Gateway.
ARES-god_of_war Me? Cranking customs out? Never. I looked at the 5" bodies for a long time and decided that they just weren't good enough. It wasn't simply a matter of scale, but of proportions. If you stand a 5" figure next to a 6" figure, it doesn't look like a kid. It just looks like a shrunk person. All those 5" figures are probably going to have ripped torsos etc. that just would look a bit funky on kids.
And as I had to shorten them all to be different heights anyway, I thought it best to work from a standard base, and X-23 is in abundance here and going very cheaply at retail.
sephiroth Power Pack have been getting new comics in the Marvel Age imprint since about 2004 I think. It's the one comic that my partner gets excited about and I have to say, the little nods they do to the 616 MU in there are really interesting. My figures are modelled after their look in that series.
I may do Franklin/Tattletale and Kofi to complete the group, and am aiming to make a base of the whole gang using their powers.
Anyway, thanks all for the comments again.
Just one thing, When you start cranking these out for the custom collectors, can you use the 5" Fantastic Four/Spiderman bodies?
1. it'll save you the trouble of having to shorten each and every one of them.
2. those things are practically free on a website?!
I'm not hating, but seeing you got yours done before I did... I wanted to share my "Child Bodies" idea with you?
Keep up the good work money!
