Insect larva that have hatched inside Silent Hill's Town Center. Young Twin Feelers (0.9 m/3 ft in length) are carrion feeders, but as they grow, and their acid glands develop, they begin to seek out live prey to sate their ravenous appetites. However, because their eye sight is poor and they rely almost exclusively on their antennae for sensory information, Twin Feelers prefer ambushing to active hunting. They accomplish this by burrowing into soft earth or sand and lying in wait for other organisms to draw near, at which time they emerge and spit acidic mucus at the victim until it is incapacitated and can safely be devoured.

When, and if, a Twin Feeler larva reaches maturity (approximately 4.6 m/15 ft in length), it will undergo a metamorphosis to become a gigantic Float Stinger moth.

I really couldn't get into silent hill, I loved the idea but the game itself never did much for me. I love the idea that the town in the movie was based on Centralia, a town here in Pennsylvania that's had a fire burning in the coal mine under the town for over 40 years. There's enough coal in the mines for it to burn another 250. there are 12 people living in the town now. Its amazing how much research the japanese game makers do (especially with the Metal gear series).

Most people never see these little guys, I never even knew about them myself till I read about it in a FAQ--mainly because there's a scripted event where you fall through the floor to fight the single, larger Twin Feeler boss before you can get close enough to them (they're what causes the static on the radio in that area). There's a guy who hacked the camera for the original Silent Hill game, which is how I got to see a good, clean screenshot of these smaller Twin Feeler specimens to work from. If memory serves, I believe I read in a FAQ that you can actually kill them, but, as they never pose any danger to Harry Mason, there's not much point in wasting the ammunition.

Disturbing but very cool. I never ran into them but I've only played the first 2 games and never finished either.
