Base Figure:Marvel Legends Ares Scarlet Spider

inspired by Spiderman Unlimited AS. I have yet to see anyone attempt this spidey. I oculd find no toy lines of this series so here is my own. I always liked this specific spiderman, especially the isignia although I wasn't really feeling the cape and thus, there is none.

Took and ML Scarlet Spider and instead of black or white prime, I primed him in a glossy blue then heavily drybrushed black. I couldn't decide wether to do that method or to just do a black base coat and airbrush the blue in like the ML Black Spidey (I don't even have an airbrush anyway, but it was a possibility). Overall I'm proud of it considering this is my second custom.

Any tips (I know my painting needs work.)? Don't be too shy to post why you don't like it/ whats wrong with! I wanna forever improve.

Well here is my second custom ever, enjoy!

Yeah my first customs didn't look this good. The problem with using the cartoon as a refference is that he's always in a dark area so its hard to figure out what kind of blue his suit really is.

This is only your second custom ever? Then I'd say you're movin' along just fine! That's some nice sculpting on the spider. The other areas look good, too. I agree with sephiroth; a lighter blue drybrush over your existing paintjob would really make it pop. The brighter shade would be a nicer contrast to the red and it would allow the sculpting to "pop" more. Great custom, man. Keep 'em comin'!

I probably would have used a slightly lighter blue as it looks almost black in the pics. You could also make this figure with a Spiderman 2099 figure as they're similar in design.

You make my first two customs seem like crud, lol. I'm just kidding, this is really great. I love how you captured the look of this spidey som much. I grew up with this version . My first two customs are a G.I. joe sized guyver, and a spawn with a knightshadow batman head and spiderman 3 venom body. Keep up the awesome work!!
