Its a neat idea but I would have used an xacto knife to create layers of wounds on him instead of just paint. If the plastic was too hard you could heat the blade with a candle and use it to carve teh wounds (with ventilation of course). then you could layer shades of red to simulate blood. The handle method is handy as the hot blade will leave pieces of plastic curled up at times that look like skin when you get cut or a scratch adn the top layers are torn instead of sliced. the same technique works for damage on armor and as bullet holes. look online for tips for modeling armor for more info.
