I like making figures that no one has seen or attempted before, even if it's a well known character. And because of the lack of warhammer customs out there, I'm focusing on the 40k universe. There are so many cool characters to choose from and I think they really put my skills to the test. I decided on a Necron because I had a couple Judge Deaths lying around and the skeletal frame really suits it. More specifically a Lord because they are more visually appealing. On the distant horizon will be some space marines(and chaos) but, I haven't figured out a way to do the armor with minimal sculpting. That, and they're so freaking massive to begin with. So for now I'm focusing on human sized and shaped characters(since I already have the bodies lined up). So in the vein of 40k I plan on some Eldar, Imperial Guard maybe, and perhaps some tau Fire Warriors. I sanded down the entire body and head as much as I could, more so on the mid section to create that 'spine' he has. Then sculpting and more sculpting. This is probably the most extensive work I've done on one figure, at least as far as different materials goes. His Staff of Light was made from some rods, axe heads, and a green rod from a necron miniature sprue. Questions comments welcome. ![]() |
