BOB-808: The Forgotten Force Forged in the chaos of galactic scrapyards, BOB-808 emerged as a fusion of salvaged droid components and something far rarer... a piece of a forgotten Jedi. Nicknamed Bob by those who know him best (a name he proudly prefers over the sterile "808"), this mysterious figure is no ordinary droid. Hidden beneath layers of patched armor and a fearsome skull-faced mask lies a startling truth: Bob is part human - a soul reborn through machine. Once a Jedi Knight who fell during the Clone Wars, fragments of his organic brain were recovered in secret by a scientist from those aligned with Saw Gerrera's Partisans, desperate to preserve what little hope remained in the galaxy. Using advanced tech and scraps from decommissioned Imperial units, the scientist fused man with machine... and Bob was born. Though the AI systems fill in the gaps, Bob’s humanity surfaces in his dreams - vivid, flickering echoes of lightsabers, battles, and the hum of the Force. He remembers none of it clearly, but each night brings visions that stir something deep within him. Something ancient. Something powerful. Yes, Bob dreams. And yes... he can still touch the Force. While not as strong as the Jedi he once was, Bob’s connection is just enough to bend the odds in the right moment - a slight push here, a flicker of foresight there. And in the war against the Empire, even the smallest tremor in the Force can mean the difference between victory and annihilation. To Imperials, Bob is a ghostly menace - the eerie mask, the mechanical limbs, the rumor that he moves without making a sound. But to the Rebellion, he is a guardian. A symbol. A friend. BOB-808 fights not to remember who he was, but to protect what the galaxy could be. And when the darkness closes in, he stands tall in the shadows - skull-faced, half-man, half-machine... ...and all heart. Recipe: Bob is a true mashup of spare fodder parts, a Star Wars Magna Droid upper body, Marvel Universe lower legs with robotic pieces spliced into it, some slight dremel work and aluminum color paint dry brushed over solid black spliced-on robotoic parts. Spare fabric used to craft the waist like cloths, and other belt-style pieces cut and fashioned around the droid body. I believ ethe gold sword is from a Dollar General GI Joe Snake Eyes with handle painted black. He has a blaster pistol in holster that can be removed and used, and a knight-armor style arm guard to block laser shots and it's made of Beskar so it can even block a light saber! I also made a custom skull helmet with see through eyes so you can see his red droid eyes. For a superbly mashed together figure made from total fodder parts, I think this turned out to be one of my favorite figures with all the little touches and see through eyes skull mask, not my most favorite looking, but most favorite to create :). ![]() |
