Design: The Tyco Electric Truck set included a slew of GI Joe vehicles: two tanks, a Jeep, a Higgins-boat style landing craft, and a tractor/trailer combo with an ICBM (which was referred to as a “satellite”). This tank is the first of the Joe side of the TETs, which is being fused with Eco-Warriors moving forward. A few of the vehicles will be sidesteps from the TETs vehicles. When making the two Cobra tanks, I combined the turrets from a Soldier Force tank with the body of a cheap Amazon tank to create two tanks that looked very sleek and modern. The byproduct tanks looked clunky and awkward. The turrets were too wide for the bodies, and the turret necks were too tall. Rather than trying to fix these issues, I added kibble to the underside of the turret to push further into the peculiar aesthetic. The turret originally had a totally open seat on top, like the laser seat of the HAVOC. To improve it a bit, I added a pillbox accessory from the Soldier Force set around the seat. Since it was scaled to little green army men, it works fine as an access port to the turret. This also brings some of the same sculpt styling from the tank base to the turret, blending them more. As the kibble could be some sort of anti-tox sprayer, it helps sell these tanks as Eco-Warriors oddness. Colors & Paints: Olive drab, like the Tyco GI Joe Electric Trucking set, with a black wash to pop out details. ToyHax decals punch up the paints. The bright blue of the Eco-Striker was too stupid to use on any of the vehicles in this set. Sculpting & Modifying: Aside from the turret swaps, various kibble adorns the underside of the turret. Most of the kibble are windshield wiper bushings. ![]() |
