Cobra Cargo Truck (based on the Tyco GI Joe Electric Trucking set) About the truck: As part of its GI Joe Electric Trucking set, Tyco included several Cobra vehicles: a Jeep, two tanks, and a cargo truck. The cargo truck was the high-quality "racing" piece that went on the track; the Jeep and tanks were simple “green army men” style processed plastic mini-vehicles. The actual toy featured a cargo truck with a canvass tarp, but the packaging art featured no canvass (just the frame it would have been draped over). Although Chap Mei/Animal Planet has made trucks in both styles, I opted for the no-canvass look to show off figures displayed in the back. Colors & Paints: Deep Cobra blue, with a medium blue wash to help details pop. For some color splash, I left the red buttons on the driver’s side unpainted, but topped them with some of the ROC Steel Crusher stickers to look like side spot lights. Fantastic ToyHax stickers elevate the finished vehicle. Sculpting & Modifying: None on this one, although a top light bar and the ram bar were removed to make my custom A-Team van a few years ago. Thanks for looking. ![]() |

Adding a medium blue wash over the midnight blue really helps the details pop.
Above the paints, the Toyhax stickers are magic. I only started using them a year ago, but now they've become and important go-to tool. They've opened up the vehicle customizing door for me.
