"Nowhere do the stars shine as brightly as they do on Carnate island. On this very stage, where it is my pleasure to introduce you to the world of your own mind. I offered them a bright new world. A pity so few of my patients lived to see it." -Dr. Killjoy- The final entry in The Suffering series, the "good doctor" himself. Dr. Killjoy, the quite insane psychiatrist surgeon operated the Carnate Institute for the Alienated until his disappearance in the 1930s. His extreme experimental methods resulted in the death of his patients more often than not to no great surprise. Having created his own form of immortality through science, he can project himself through an assortment of electrical devices, most notably 16mm film projectors and television sets, appearing like a sort of monochromatic hologram. Killjoy for all his narcissism, brutality, and outright madness, does sincerely wish to cure his patients and its easy to forget that he did have successes. The patients who did survive his treatments may have come out somewhat brain damaged, but happier and greatful to the doctor in the end. I hadnt initially planned to make this one until neca announced a Vincent Price figure, whom the Killjoy character was based on. However in the end I didn't even use necas figure, opting instead for a custom head offered by "My Action Figure Lab" then added the head mirror. Consider this an official shout out from someone who typically loathes 3d printed parts, the surface texture is perfect, I've never seen such quality in a print. The body is a surgeon freddy with the neck portion transplanted from a lucius fox figure, forearms from craig windrix, and hands from inferno ghostface, then painted in such a way to attempt to replicate his 16mm ghostly appearance. ![]() |
