After being convinced by Cador that King Henguist intended to brand him a traitor, Zemeckis staged a coup. After killing the King, he renamed Almekia into the Esgares Empire and declared himself Emperor. From there, the war was on. But Zemeckis doesn't actually crave power. He simply only knows a life of battle and sees an opportunity for the greatest battle of his life. In Grand Edition, Esgares becomes playable, but in the original game, it wasn't. And that made sense. A gathering of the strongest Rune Knights in the early game, and five different kingdoms to defend against does help to balance them, but they still feel overpowered in the original game. There was, however, a code you could put in to play as them. I only did it once, though. Kinda got boring without any story beats.

Hands were from Colossus with the backs lightly resculpted. Head was from Punisher with the hair sculpted. I think the crossbow came from a Joe, but I resculpted the entire bow portion to make it larger. And the feet were from a BossFight Knight with the front spike sculpted on. The entirety of the armor from there was sculpted on. Full repaint, and all done!
