Why I made him: I’m particular about the mixing bowls my evil mutants wear as hats. Also, the Avalanche I remember wears a fetch muted lavender with his silver pirate boots.

How I made him: He’s a repaint of Hasbro’s with a head print from Collectible Carnage on eBay. I filled in the pin holes with Green Stuff, sanded down the eyebrow contours, and whittled away the area between the sides of the helmet and the jaw. Paint is Model Master Acryl over a Citadel silver base coat, except for Citadel flesh tones.

What went well: He was actually pretty easy to disassemble and joint prep.

What could have gone better: I sprayed the base coat outside on a swampy day, so his texture is bumpier than I’d like.

What’s next: The chrome toaster helmet.
