Smokey here was a super fun passion project for me. He comes together in form of a interesting kitbash, lots of sculpting, and soft goods.
He started as a jazwares aew wardlow, and the recipe is as follows.
Torso, arms: aew wardlow
Hands: random aew figures
Legs from thigh to calf: mattel wwe elite The Fiend
Boots(shins): mezco hawk p-40
Boots: gwtoys body
Head is fully sculpted with procreate putty (no base head) I didn’t want to go full “cartoon/mascot look, or full bear (because I was going to do bear hands);so I ended up in a kind of hybrid position, where the mascot looks like he might be the guy in a slasher flick. And I really thought that worked for him actually.
From neck to fingertips is fully sculpted with procreate putty. The base hands wet modified by cutting the fingers off at first knuckles and fully sculpted over. They are also now much wider than standard. I used magnets in his palms and on the shovel so he can hold it, without interrupting sculpt, or paint. I used the fiend legs on him so he could have those short stout bear style legs. His giant camp knife is forged from two kinds of worbla, and the sheath is procreate putty. The hat is a combination of worbla, and procreate putty, and fits with a pressure fit. The shovel was the handle of a paintbrush, with worbla for the spade, and magnets drilled in. I keep various soft goods around in this scale, and these jeans came from eBay. I rolled a cuff into the legs, and glued the cuffs in place so they always look that way.
I felt like this would fit in with my Captain Planet, after I made him. They’re forming a team :).
He is painted with Vallejo, p3, greenstuffworld; and sealed with Mr superclear matte+uv protect.
