Happy New Year to you all!!!

and to start off what I hope will be another great year of customs I present my version of the Bat-Man.

I wanted this figure to have a look and feel from the original comics waaaay back in the 1930's and 40's-so I didn't want a huge muscular figre-Madman is a great base for figures in my opinion and he fit the bill to a tee.

The Cowl and ears were moulded with Milliput-the rest is just a Bat-Man paint job on the LCBH Madman.

I was looking through some books the other day and I stumbled across a series of Batman covers by Mike Zeck(from the Legends of the Dark Knight comic book series)-I liked the way Bats was holding his cape and I wanted to reproduce this look in my figure.

The DCD Batman First Appearance has a great cape-I liked the shape of it and it already has a wire frame-so all I needed to do was attach it to my figure.

As this is my version of the Bat-Man I wanted to add the shoulder holster for his pistol-I know Bats doesn't use guns as a rule but I wanted a "Costumed Adventurer" from the 1930's-40's and I thought this was appropriate.

The same goes with the utility belt-his batrope is just a normal rope and grapple hook,he has modified Hand Grenades for smoke,a small telescope on the belt, plus a knife (which is round the back of the belt). He has one "Batarang" on the pouch of his belt beneath the grenades.

The belt is from the ML Union Jack-I removed the holster from the belt as I wanted Bat_Man to have the shoulder holster and also moved the knife round the back. The shoulder holster is from ML Daredevil(the movie one) and the pistol is a colt.45 1911 from a knock off figure.

I had the idea when I took the photos to create a newspaper cover documenting a sighting of the Bat-Man, so I took a scan from the Killing Joke of a newspaper article and put my photo over the top after giving it a sepia tone for an aged look.

Hope you like him-any comments/feedback,etc is welcomed as always

cheers
