I wanted to make a custom toon accurate Metalhead to fit in scale with the vintage Playmates line. Used a Mutatin' Mike figure as a base just for articulation, re-positioned the parts made taller and bulkier, completely sculpted over with apoxie sculpt. Was going to keep both feet flat but the figure was a bit top heavy and falling over easily, I found it balanced better with one foot at an angle so I repositioned the stance as a homage to the vintage figure stance. I wasn't going to make any accessories at first so I thought it was done then decided last minute I want to go the extra mile and make the blaster cannon seen in the cartoon and game. This made the project take much longer as I had to hollow out the front shell area and a lot more work involved. Made some accessories and interchangeable robot parts. Painted with acrylic paints. This custom took me longer than any others I've done, sculpting the robotic parts was a challenge.
