Calvin “Spaceman” Spiff & Hobbes have crash landed on the fantastic planet of Eternia! As a child of the 80’s/90’s Calvin & Hobbes were a fixture in the daily newspaper. This is my interpretation of what Calvin’s overactive imagination may have conceived when lost in daydream. The way I see it, a child never imagines himself as a kid, but as an adult in their fantasies. The iconic action star of that era of Hollywood was none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, so it is likely that Calvin may have used him as his archetype. Hobbes I imagine in a role similar to that of Chewbacca; a loyal companion and co-pilot, speaking in roars, and interpreted to others via Spiff’s responses. This was a fun duo to execute! Hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
