I posted a decent (if sloppy) Kor the Klingon figure back in July 2022 using a silicone rubber mold of a John Calicos head sculpt I found on ebay and repainted a Koloth body. The baldric was made from fabric. It was the best I could do at the time, but I always wanted to try again with better tools. So now I made a new Kor figure based on the awesome one created by Welandian Works in 2016. This time, I scanned a Diamond Select Kor head using a 3D scanner, and edited in slicer software to make it Playmates 5-inch figure scale. I used the upper body from my previous figure, but I followed Welandian's idea and used legs from a Playmates TOS figure. I used Spock's legs, to be specific. Welandian made boots for their figure, but I'm not skilled in sculpting, so I used legs from a Playmates Jem'Hadar figure, which already looked like boots. It worked out great! To finish it off, I scanned and printed a belt from a Worf action figure, made it smaller, and added a Kor emblem to it. Thanks to Welandian for the inspiration! My version isn't as good as theirs, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. ![]() |
