Ahh yes the hero of willamette, frank west the photojournalist from the dead rising series which is one of my favourite series and in my opinion the best zombie game series. This was actually a decently easy custom with the head being the only thing that really made him take this long to make with me constantly having to redo the eyes and while I might go back and add a bit of shading I’m pretty happy with the end result.


For franks head I 3D printed and painted the umvc3 head after ripping it from the game and modifying it to give it a ball joint hole so that it would work on the base figure. And the base figure I used a marvel legends the hood figure as it was pretty much perfect all I had to do was boil it and take it apart, then I simply threw the head into my parts bin alongside his cloak, and then painted the jacket black with a bit of white at the wrist area to make it look more like frank was wearing a white button up like in the game and then I painted the belt black with a silver belt buckle.
And after I was done painting him and all his accessories I went over all the paint with some mod podge matte finish to protect the paint and avoid paint chipping.

And of course it isn’t frank west without his camera and a bunch of different random items that could be found around a mall, all his accessories I 3D printed and painted.

I plan on making more accessories for him in the future such as a jug of orange juice, a few different hands, maybe a alternate head with the mega man x helmet, the protoman buster and shield a serve bot helmet, and many more as the magic of having a figure of any of the dead rising protagonists is you can give them just about any object or weapon and it would make sense in the context of the game as in them you can pickup just about anything and use it to kill zombies.

I did think about making some of the combo weapons from dead rising 2 and I could of as I know how to get and fix the models from the game for printing, but I decided against it as I plan on making chuck Greene from dead rising 2 as he is my favourite character from the series and I already 3D print a head that works on marvel legends, and you bet I’m gonna make a bunch of stuff for him and they’ll mostly be the combo weapons. I just need a base figure for chuck and then I can get started.
