This is my first sculpture, I made this out of air dry clay, paints and acrylic sealer, I decided to do a street fighter character, I chose Hugo he was always a fun character to play and to fight, I started by deciding if I wanted to do a bust or a full body statue I thought he would probably look strange without a body so I decided to sculpt a full figure, I started by sculpting the feet, feet have always been hard to draw for me so I assumed they would be difficult to sculpt… I was right they look funky but enough about that, let’s move on I breezed through the legs I wanted him to be doing that weird crouch jiggle thing so I made him in a crouching position once that was done I started on his hulking body this was fairly easy I made a skeleton out of wire and aluminum foil then formed the overall bulk after that I started on the musculature honestly this was not that hard, sure it’s not perfect but I’m happy with the way it looks, after that I plopped some clay on the arm skeleton and just started going crazy this was probably the most frustrating part of the build, the head was fairly easy because let’s be honest he’s ugly, I let that dry overnight and then started mixing paints he has kind of a hot pink tank top so yeah that’s what I did so yeah fast forward 2 hours and he’s ready for the sealer I got gloss and tested it on some clay it looked WAY to shiny so I went back and got matte (I also picked up a chain for him) the matte looked better to me I let that dry and there we go HUGO
