Well, seeing as we have all heard the stories about how He-Man was inspired by the success of the Conan movie, I decided to give Eternia a little taste of Cimmeria. I used a vintage MOTU Fisto figure for the base of the custom. I took off the huge fist and replaced it with a regular He-Man grasping fist. This way he can both swing his sword and have an extra point of articulation for posing. I used the left arm from a Flying Fists He-Man to better hold a shield. The head was sculpted from Sculpey. I was trying to capture the look of the old MOTU figures, so I simplified the expression and softened the sculpt up a bit. The shield was made from a piece of a Lego rocket. The sword was made from bits and pieces and the necklace and loop on his belt were made from a sword sheathe from a 12 inch GI Joe Storm Shadow figure. The Sword scabbard was made from craft foam and holds the sword snugly. I gave him a darker skin tone and sealed it with clear coat.
