So, I needed to take a slight break from my Superman related figures and do something a little different. Since I am also a fan of the classic Jack Kirby DC character OMAC, I decided that I would make his second costume, which was designed by Jim Starlin and appeared in Kamandi #59 (Sept–Oct, 1978) and Warlord #s37–39 and 42–47 (Sept-Nov, 1980 and Feb-July, 1981).

So, to do this figure, I took a DC Universe Classics OMAC, and used the boil and pop method to remove his head, arms, and lower legs. Next, I took my Exacto knife to cut away the metal collar. Since the figure's original T crotch was already cracked, I was ale to remove the res of the legs easy and start a slight repaint of all blue blue sections of the figure with Citadel Kantor Blue, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear (I repeated this process on the new T crotch which I took from a DC Universe Golden Age Atom figure) and then reassembled. Next, I took the lower legs from a DC Universe Crime Syndicate Boxset Johnny Quick and used a little brush and roller cleaner to strip all of the paint from it. Next, I replaced the existing running shoe style feet from the Johnny Quick with a set from the fodder box of the Ultraman. With the lower legs now reassembled, I gave the legs two healthy coats of Citadel Kantor Blue for the boots and Testors Model Masters International Orange for the leggings around the knees followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear, and then reassembled the legs. With the legs now fully assembled, I set the figure aside and started working on the forearms.

To redo OMAC's forearms properly, I took the forearms from a DC Universe Classics Doctor Mid-Nite and attached them to the OMAC upper arms. Once fully assembled, I repainted both gloves with the Testors Model Masters International Orange and the elbow portion of the forearms with the Citadel Kantor Blue, followed by two generous coats of Flat Clear. Once the Flat Clear had dried, I reattached the arms to the figure. Lastly, I slapped on a new chest symbol with a little glue (the symbol was made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, this one was drawn to approximate the symbol worn by OMAC in all of his comic appearances), and TA-DA...OMAC in his Jim Starlin designed second costume!!!

Please let me know what you guys think of him, and as always, comments are appreciated.
